Switzerland Day 2-3

We arrived in Interlocken early in the afternoon and found a hostel that is I guess one of the top hostels in the world. We napped before walking around town and hiking to the local lake. We sat at the shores of the magnificent teal lake swimming in its refreshing water.

On our way back we picked up dinner and ate at the hostel where we met are roommates. Sharing stories of our travels with our new found friends at the local bar, the night went fast. Back in our room we enjoyed our first night of the trip on a real bed.
The call to adventure hit us that morning we decided not to spend a second day in Interlocken, but instead to take another train further into the mountains to the amazing little town of Lauterbrunnen.

Surrounded by over 70 waterfalls, snowcapped peaks, and mountain villages it truly is the best place on earth.
Walking around the town taking it all in was an adventure on its own that day. Tired, we retreated to our hostel where Adam made an amazing dinner of curry and chicken. Eating our dinner we talked with local travelers figuring out what to do and discovered a climbing area further up the valley we had decided to rent gear and go in the morning. With some convincing three girls from the hostel agreed to tag along with us. We plan to meet them tomorrow at 8 for coffee before heading to climb.

Switzerland!

It was a long, uncomfortable, hot, smelly, crowded bus ride last night but we arrived in the cold still dark and sleeping Geneva early this morning.

We took an hour or so to look around the city before we jumped on the next train headed anywhere near the famous Swiss alps we had been dreaming about. The train followed Lake Geneva giving us the best views imaginable.

We stopped over in Berne and Spiez before finally arriving in Interlocken. Having checked in to our hostel we are going out for the night to explore this magnificent town!

Paris day 5

Last day in Paris today was well spent, we packed our bags and headed out to the Château de Versailles. We arrived to find an Immensely long line to enter the Palace so we skipped it and explored the vast gardens on the property. We headed back to Paris for lunch and ended up trying escargot and it was surprisingly good. With one more stop we grabbed our bags said our goodbye to our amazing host Braden and boarded our bus to Switzerland. Be in Geneva in the morning!

Day 2 and 3 Paris

Finally caught up on sleep after 3 days with only 6 hours of sleep. After a late start went to north to Montmartre and explored there for a while. Went out that night with some of Braden's friends, then hit the sack. The next day we headed to the musse d'orsay for the morning then the Paris catacombs in the afternoon. Another awesome day in Paris!

Day 1 in Paris

Bonjour! Arrived in Paris early early Friday morning. Caught a train into the city right to notre dame which was remarkable. From there we had a lunch of bread and cheese next to the river, then walked to the arc de triumph. We still had yet to figure out the metro, so we then trekked out to the Eiffel Tower, where we sat in the grass and relaxed for a while. We then decided it was time to find Braden, my friend we are staying with in France. We wandered, lost, for 3 hours, but eventually made it and after a quick meal, promptly fell asleep.

Iceland!

We made the most of our layover in Iceland! The country side has a strange, beautiful, unique look to it, a very alien looking tundra with mountains rising in the distance and fog rolling over the ocean. Despite the fact that we never learned how to pronounce it, Reykjavik was an awesome city. We saw some of the history, relaxed in the local coffee shops, and soaked in some hot springs. Between the three of us we have about 6 hours of sleep in the past 3 days, but that didn't change the great time in Iceland!
